Bradenton is located in Manatee County, on the Gulf Coast of Florida. As of 2012, the population was estimated to be 50,672. The city was founded in 1842 as Bradentown, then combined with the city of Manatee to be incorporated as Bradenton in 1943. Manatee Memorial Hospital is located in the heart of Bradenton. Manatee Memorial is home to a behavioral health center, a breast care center, an orthopedic and spine center, rehabilitation services, and a stroke center. They also offer advanced cardiac diagnostics and interventions in their heart and vascular center, and are an accredited chest pain center by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.
