Santa Monica Recreation

While Santa Monica has over three and a half miles of pristine coastline, its most popular oceanfront attraction is the world-famous Santa Monica Pier. Built in 1909, the Pier is still delighting visitors a century later with its full-service amusement park, historic carousel and the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. Shoppers can browse boutiques both large and small along the famed Third Street Promenade. For a more traditional shopping experience, residents of assisted living in Santa Monica head to the nearby Santa Monica Place, a new open-air shopping center offering a contemporary mix of upscale stores and dining.

The City of Santa Monica is bursting with creative energy as roughly 43% of its residents make their living in the arts. Consequently, seniors enjoying assisted living in Santa Monica have easy access to any one of the many cultural performances put on throughout the year by the Santa Monica Civic Light Opera, Santa Monica Symphony, Santa Monica Playhouse or Westside Ballet.
