My mother-in-law moved in to the independent living level of Broadway Proper. The rooms were good, her room is a 1-bedroom and 2-bath, and it's quaint and clean. The people there were great. They do happy hour every Wednesday, and there's a person that runs the gym who came up and talked to her about all the different things they have to offer. The food is great and the service in the dining area is wonderful. They have good portions and the food is healthy.
Broadway Proper was fine. The staff member who assisted me was very good. She explained everything that she could. I had lunch with her and everything was fine. Broadway Proper seemed good, but the people were older than me. I'm only 72 years old, so I don't quite fit in yet.
I thought Broadway Proper was too large for my mother-in-law to get around in. The staff members were busy, so our tour was a little haphazard. We just dropped in so we had someone who wasn't tired to do the tour and to give us a look. However, it didn't fit what we were looking for. The building was lovely. They had a beautiful garden, but we weren't unable to go out there. We looked through the window because the person who was taking us wasn't authorized to take visitors out into the garden. The dining area and the common areas were lovely for visitors but not too user friendly for their residents.
My visit at Broadway Proper was excellent. They treated me very nicely and showed me all around. Everything was clear, clean, and the place was nice. We just decided to go to another community because the rooms here don't have patios on them. They have a little café in the lobby, they have transportation available, and offer most of the things that other places also have. They showed us a 2-bedroom apartment and everything about it was fine, we just wanted a patio off of the room. The person who gave us the tour was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.
My mom has been at Broadway Proper for two years now, and she likes it there very much. They have a swimming pool, game room, library, and art classes. They come in, do a wellness check, and clean, and she has a couple of meals a day. They have a van that takes them to doctors' appointments.
My impression of Broadway Proper was very good, the representative in charge was very knowledgeable. They had a lot of construction going on when we first went there, but the food was very good, and the staff was excellent. They have a small exercise room that's adequate, and they're very proud of their new patio area outside, but the pool is very small. It's a beautiful place, but there's a few things lacking. There's no driveway entrance, and there's not much room in their buses to load people in and out. The parking will be a problem in the future, and her room doesn't really have a view, It overlooks the parking lot.
Broadway Proper is a wonderful place to live, the tenants and the staff are all very friendly, and nice. I like that I dont have to go outside to eat or do anything unless I want to. The food is great, believe me, and there are lots of fun activities to do here. We just had a pie-throwing activity where the residents get to throw pie at the employees, and it's all to raise money for charity. There are also card games, bag-throwing games, and there was even a cute miniature pig in the lobby the other day. The price is reasonable since they feed us and do everything else for us. The place is beautiful. They just redid the lobby and the pool area.
Broadway Proper was fine. The only problem with it was they do not have skilled nursing on-site. We knew my father was going to be in skilled nursing for a while and it's much easier to transition from skilled nursing into assisted living in the same facility rather than move yet again. It was a very nice place. The person that assisted me was very knowledgeable. The dining area looked fine and so did their menu. Everything looked fine. They had a reading area, an exercise area, and a large common area with a TV.
I liked Broadway Proper. I would choose it because it cost a little less, and I thought it would suit me better. The coordinator met us, and we went over their portfolio, floor plans, and other things they offer. It was a three-story place with four elevators. They had a lot of activities. The girl who was in charge of showing us around did an excellent job. She took us to an apartment that was vacant, so I could see the size. I really liked them. They looked like they were well staffed. The monthly rent included breakfast plus your choice of lunch or dinner and snacks. They showed us how to use their emergency communication system. The staff was on call 24 hours a day if you needed them and housekeeping was weekly. They take you to all of your doctors' appointments or even to get groceries. They offered cable TV. The only thing extra you have to pay for are your telephone and covered parking. They also had internet available and allowed pets.
Broadway Proper seemed very nice and in a very good place. I have only met one staff member, who gave us the tour, and she was very nice. The rooms were a good size for the price. They had a varied offering from small to larger rooms that seemed to be very nice and well taken care of. The location was in a good part of town. They were similar to other places, but they had a full list of activities.
Facility: Broadway Proper is just lovely. The facility feels homey and inviting. There is an energy in the air that is a refreshingly different compared to many senior living communities. There is a sense of peace and relaxation among the constant sound of pleasant conversation. The grounds are remarkably well kept and inside the facility always appears clean and uncluttered. Residents: The residents always seem happy and busy. They appear to be very close and friendly with one another and they seem to really enjoy living together. There is never a sense of annoyance or tension between them, but more so a relaxed, family-like connection is present. Staff/Quality of Care: The staff members are very nice. Very helpful to visitors. It is easy to see that they take pride in showing off their community and they are committed to caring for the residents. They take joy in resident accomplishments and they are always there to unconditionally support the residents during difficult days. I would not think twice about leaving my loved one in their care. Activities: There is literally always something going on during the day here, it seems. The activity schedule is packed full of fun outings, events, and activities that will keep the residents active and their days full. Food: I have never personally tried the food. I have, however, had more positive than negative reviews regarding the food service and staff.
We had lived here for one year before moving to an apartment on our own. After a year and a half we decided to return "home" to Broadway Proper because of the various programs available for us. The food service is very good. I enjoy the variety of meals available to choose from. Prime Fir has changed my life. Since I started an exercise program designed specifically for me I have not had the need for an epidural in 9 months. The programs and activities are plentiful! There is always something to do. I have several favorite staff members here also. I wish to name them and list their positive characteristics; but alas, this section is too short and I would be sure to forget some of the important people in our lives that are on staff from top to bottom. Sincerely, Mardee & Sonny Oleerst
