I was treated nicely during my visit to Brookdale North Chandler, but I found a lot of negatives. It was not squeaky-clean nor organized, and I took it off my list. The positive thing was that it's the cheapest of all the places I visited.
We apologize that your tour of Brookdale North Chandler did not meet all of your expectations. We want to thank you for taking the time to visit and providing feedback. Our staff is continuously committed to providing the highest-quality service and we will share your feedback with our management team.
My mom loved Brookdale North Chandler. She was in skilled nursing for about 45 days after a hip fracture, and then she transferred to their assisted living, and everybody was superb. Even the therapy that came, which was connected with Brookdale, was very nice. All the people were nice, and she loved it. They provided very good assistance in everything she needed. They had activities every day at the assisted living, but she didn’t participate in any of them. I saw people down there playing games and doing stuff, and they had Sunday morning services. Every day, they had what they were doing up on the wall and all kinds of things that they could go to. The facilities were very nice, and the room was great. It had a little kitchenette with a refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink. She shared the bathroom with the lady next door, who was very nice, and it worked out great. We were totally happy with it.
Awful care for my father. We were in the independent living and the assisted living with bad service and care. He fell and broke his back and they never called me, they ignored his needs, never showered him and for $4500 a month gave him a small bedroom that was more like a mental facility. The 'care' is more about medication management than anything. The turn over is bad and his phone and $1000 went missing. It's the walmart of care facilities and I would never put anyone in a Brookdale again.
The staff at Brookdale North Chandler was great. The food's rating was 4 stars, but the rooms were old. What I did not like was that the washer and dryer were not in the unit; you had to go down the hallway, and having them in the unit would be very important for me. Overall, it was dull.
I think we’re happy with Brookdale North Chandler, and my mother will be staying there as far as I know. The place is probably four stars. The elevator broke one time, and it was several hours or half a day before they fixed it. It’s just minor things like that. The other thing that is not optimal would be that when she rings for assistance, it sometimes takes a fair amount of time to get answered, although they’re supposed to only take a couple of minutes. Sometimes it takes 20 minutes or so. It is fine for now, not perfect, but OK.
Formerly Park Regency, this campus is located with easy access off the main freeways in the Southeast valley, set back far enough to enjoy pretty landscaped grounds. With a two storied assisted living, a memory center, and skilled nursing, this warm and inviting facility provides a continuum of care. There is personal pride in the units as observed by flowers on some balconies, rockers that appeared to come from home, and even Texas Longhorn memorabilia. Set back behind the assisted living campus, is the memory campus. I appreciated the outdoor area that would allow residents to enjoy the nine months of great weather, yet was locked and secured to ensure safety. Walking the grounds, I came across a water aerobics class in process, and was cheerfully “egged on” by the instructor and participants to jump in and enjoy! Residents passing by in walkers were also teased to come join in. The grounds were very clean, although the grass is probably a day or two over needing to be mowed. I was also able to see inside the dining room – covered tablecloths, flowers in the center, nicely done. Overall observational exterior impression was that this was a warm, friendly, and inviting campus.
To say that I was not impressed by this community when it was Park Regency would be an understatement. In almost every area (from quality of care, to living conditions, to maintenance, to activities/services/amenities, to food service, to management, and more), there were issues that seemed to never get addressed no matter how many residents, family members, advocates, and even staff members complained. These issues continued to remain untouched at least up until my very last Park Regency visit about 7 months prior to them switching over. I always despised the feeling I would get as I was leaving the facility, knowing that the residents deserved better. And better they got! Goodbye Park Regency and hello Brookdale North Chandler! Brookdale came in and made some much needed changes. The community is now clean and well maintained. With Brookdale, came their extraordinary list of activities, services, and amenities. They have created a completely different, much improved environment for the residents to call home and the residents appear to be so much happier! Brookdale was the miracle needed to turn this community around and offer to the residents, the type of loving, fun, supportive, and active home they need and deserve.
