I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
We've placed my mother at Somerby of Mobile and we're very satisfied with it. The memory care is absolutely fabulous. She loves where she's at, and she has commented that she feels really safe. The nurses there have been fabulous to her and everybody who works there is wonderful. The units are smaller, but they have good-sized bathrooms, and we were able to bring in her own furniture. I'm impressed that they bring the residents so they can participate in activities, and some of them may not be participating, but they're listening, instead of just being stuck in their room. That means a lot to me, knowing that my mother would not just be left sitting around like in a nursing home. My mother has complained a little bit about the meals not being warm sometimes, and not always good. I feel that it's a reasonable price for the care that my mom is getting.

I visited this facility
I would not recommend Somerby of Mobile, they're very aggressive in their marketing, but you have to be pretty independent, which is more than what my mother is, for that facility. I saw one room, and it was nice and comparable in size. The staff was fine, I didn't see any nursing staff, and that was the deciding factor for me, and one of the main things for me is that they have enough people to take care of their level of care. The building and amenities are over the top.

We offer independent living, assisted living, as well as memory care in our community. We are able to accommodate all levels of care and have nurses and caregivers in our assisted living and memory care communities 24/7. While we do not have nurses/caregivers staffed in our independent living, there is the option to utilize Somerby Personal Care for added services.
