First of all, this review is to any family members that would be visiting their relatives who live here or decided to live here. My grandmother has been treated very well and loves it here however, I shouldn’t feel as though I am not welcome when I come to visit. My grandmother has lived here a little over 5 months, about a month after she moved in I started getting in trouble with management. Yes, me her granddaughter who visits her 2-3 times/week. All the other staff at Creekside pines has been nice and professional. I am not impressed with the professionalism of the manager at Creekside pines. I feel that if I didn’t visit so often, this probably wouldn’t be an issue; but I will not stop visiting no matter how rude management is to me because it’s not about my relationship with them, it is about my relationship with my grandmother. I also feel that if I were at least 20 years older this wouldn’t be an issue because I couldn’t imagine yelling and being disrespectful to someone older than me. I feel that I have been disrespected by this place one too many times and that the management needs to learn how to be nice and respectful and also needs to let their rules be known before you get yelled at. I understand that you are trying to run a civil place, but you are the ones not being civil by yelling at visitors.
After a long, and sometimes exhausting search for a facility for my parents, Art Sr. & Gerri and Aunt Sara, I found Dunwoody Pines. My parents are both wheelchair bound, but are very self-sufficient. I found the staff at Dunwoody Pines very inviting and welling to help with our needs. The location is in a very "Senior friendly" neighborhood with very light traffic. The facility has a very open feel to it, but the residents all seem like family. There are many weekly activities for the residents and my parents are fully engaged in the daily events. My mother attends weekly Tai Chi sessions and my father is "The Bingo King", as he would tell it. The facility has a on-site 3rd party nursing/personal care company, that is well staffed. The facility has visiting Doctors, (not part of the Dunwoody staff), but are very convenient. My mother looks forward to the weekly church services and movie night. My parents both LOVE Dunwoody Pines and the staff. My parents look forward to each and every day at "The Pines".
I love the "atrium" style bldg. plan which leads to the true feel of "community" at Dunwoody Pines. My mother lived here 17 years and the facility provides engagement, care and concern for its residents at any stage of this live experience. The Apartments feel like a real home setting - just what older residents expect. A very fine place.
My mother was a resident at Dunwoody Pines in Atlanta Georgia for eight months. I cannot say enough great things about this retirement community, and the staff there. They all went out of their way to get her involved in activities, even though she had no desire to do so - yet, they didn't give up, because they knew she needed socialization. The activities program is varied and fun! The food was so good, and for the first time in years, she was able to put on weight. The staff and management checked on her frequently, more than I would have expected. The on-site CNA staff (TriMark) took their cue from Dunwoody Pines, and did a great job as well. The attitude of the place is so positive. I only wish my mother had moved in earlier, she may have had an easier time socializing. But she was grateful to be there, and as her child, I was so relieved to have her in excellent, capable hands. Thank you Dunwoody Pines!
After looking at a number of retirement facilities, on April 1, 2011 I moved to Dunwoody Pines. I have been extremely happy with my decision. The management and staff are all great people dedicated to one thing and that is caring for the residents. The facility is great, clean and well maintained. Our activity director has so many things going on it’s sometimes hard to decide which one to participate in. Location, Location, Location, what can I say. We are located just minutes from a Kroger shopping center, minutes from banking, beauty shops, cleaners, barber shop, exercise facility, Chinese food, and the list goes on. The facility is also located near two major hospitals and a number of doctor’s offices. In my opinion you could not make a better decision then to come to Dunwoody Pines.
My parents have lived at Dunwoody Pines for over four years and all aspects of senior living have worked together wonderfully. The staff is extremely cordial and helpful at all times. There are so many different activities going on all the time, but the residents are not "pressured" to participate, unlike other senior communities. Residents can pick and choose their activities based on their personal interests. The chef-prepared food is always nutritionally balanced, made from scratch, and has tremendous variety so the residents have menu choices. Obviously, with my parents living here for four years, they are happy, too. We wholeheartedly recommend Dunwoody Pines!
My Dad and recently passed Mom have been there about 2 years plus. I really like the facility as management is very accessible and is pro resident. I have never had any issues and management has been over accomodating. It is nice to know that people who care, look out for my Dad. There are care services you can buy in small blocks of time, which helps with cost budgeting. It is great to know that my parent's could live (now Dad) in a community that allows for independant living with many services included at a very reasonable price.
Dunwoody Pines is in a great location and has a lovely building with a bright atrium. The residents are independent and enjoy a variety of activities. There is transportation provided in the local area.
