Sage Harbour at Baywinde was good. The staff was very professional, knew what they're doing, seem to care, and there when you need them. They had a couple of activity directors and all kinds of stuff to do all day long.
I did not like the layout of Sage Harbor. Architecturally, it wasn’t very well done, and it was very noisy. The common areas were just too wide open. The memory unit was horrible to see. I was turned off by the community. The staff was wonderful, though. The people were nice, but the layout was terrible.
My dad recently moved in to Castle Pointe. After mom passed away we were worried that dad would be lost. We moved him from their townhouse to Castle Pointe. Since the move he has done nothing but thrived. He attends social events, goes on outings and eats meals (he loves the food and has gained 5 lbs...yeah!) with other residents. He likes his apartment very much as he received new carpet and flooring. His new friends told him that new common area furniture is coming soon too! My dad is happy and content which makes us kids happy! Thanks Castle Pointe at Baywinde.
My brother and I agonized over putting Dad in a facility due to his advanced dementia. I live in WI and he local to this facility. Management and staff were very patient with us and our indecision. The accommodated many visits for lunch and spent a lot of time talking and planning. When my brother went on vacation, I flew out to look after Dad. In my heart I knew he needed this but it is still tough. The staff understand that and are sympathetic and compassionate. They really do bend over backwards to assist in anyway they can. The food is great, the facility is clean and care is top notch. I am so grateful we found Walden and we can rest easy knowing Dad well cared for, safe and comfortable. Strongly recommended.
My grandfather LOVES it here! The staff is wonderful and so is the food. They are given a menu for each meal and servers take their order. The other residents are on his same level, so he has made fast friends. It's a private facility, however there is a special assisted living benefit to war veterans that helps to cover the cost. I'm happy because he is happy. He has a studio style apartment with his own mailbox. It might sound silly, but at 87 years old, those are things that really matter to him. The staff has bent over backwards to make it affordable and to help find ways to cover the cost. It's completely worth every penny.
It's been two months since my mother-in-law transitioned to Baywinde (Independent Living) in Webster, New York. We never thought she would have adjusted as quickly as she did. Mary is 94 years old and had lived in her home for nearly 50 years. Unfortunately her home was multi level and we were concerned about her going up and down stairs. From day one the staff at Baywinde has been fabulous. They have been there for us as well as Mary. We can't thank them enough. For the first time in years we don't worry about her constantly. The atmosphere is unsurpassable. The facility has the appearance of a Resort. Very bright and cheery. Her apartment is lovely. A true "home". On a final note....the food is second to none. Five Star for sure !!!!
We are from the Auburn ny area and we shopped around for a long time looking for the best care for my mother and found it at Walden place Cortland NY Mom has been there for two weeks now and I am amazed at this place.
