The Veranda is a very unique and rare community as it is exclusive to memory care only. The community was thoughtfully created providing dim/natural lighting and plenty of walking area for dementia residents that want to walk within the community. The staff appears to be to friendly and as helpful as they can be but there are constant leadership changes in the head nurse and executive director role. This community is clean, the meals are OK but not the best to be seen. The activities are listed but during my time there I did not see any activities happening and the schedule that is posted in the common area stated that activities should have occurred at that time. I would recommend this community for those seeking a memory care only community but moderate care oversight would be required by the family/responsible party.
Waterford Gardens was owned by Good Neighbor Care but is now owned by Pacifica Senior Living. This community has failed to out live a negative industry reputation in Metro Atlanta. This community has experienced constant staff turnover in both leadership and front line employee roles. This community is an older community, the exterior is uniquely decisions and resembles an older apartment complex. The interior of the community is very outdated and could use a lot of remodeling. Food, activities and care continue to be areas of major areas of complaint for residents and families. The cleanliness of the community needs improvement and the community has a heavy odor of urine when you enter the are where the resident rooms are. There is a secured memory care neighborhood on the bottom level of the community but rarely do those residents engage in activities. I would not recommend this community.
