Huntington Terrace was very nice. I considered going there, but it was bigger than the place I would be going to, and I liked the smaller ones. They showed me the rooms. The studios were very nice and large for a studio, but I wanted a one-bedroom, and I really could not afford the one-bedroom there.
We chose Chancellor Gardens for my parents. I feel like the employees, and the residents are very friendly. It's a beautiful facility. The meals my parents had in the dining room have looked tasty and nutritious.
We were more impressed with the Chancellor Gardens than other places we saw. It was a little bigger and had more residents. It was like a luxurious hotel. The rooms were really nice and looked brand new. The staff was so polite and very attentive. We were really impressed with the staff. They checked on the residents often and were very organized. They gave you lots of choices on what you wanted to eat. You can make cookies and share them with the ladies. I really liked the way the whole thing was structured. They had a library, gym, salon, and a place for church services.
My dad has been in The Charleston at Cedar Hills for a month. They only have male residents, so we thought my dad would probably enjoy that. The dining area is big. They have activities, like bingo and other games.
We visited Huntington Terrace, and it was very good. The staff and the man that took us to the apartment were excellent. We had lunch there, and it was excellent as well. I just fell in love with the place. The rooms were very good. They wer eplaying bingo when I was there. I was impressed with the location.
Chancellor Gardens is really good. I don’t have any complaints. My mother has been well taken care of, and she likes the food and atmosphere, but it's expensive, and I think they could keep her room cleaner. The people that work there seem very nice. Music is played a couple of times a week.
We had a brief visit to The Country Club of La Cholla. It’s a bigger place, so I felt that it’s less personal. It had been newly remodelled, so everything was new and very nice. Their dining room was built like a cafe with booths. Their rooms were very nice.
We went to The Country Club of La Cholla. It's a small place but very nice. I saw some residents doing puzzles, but it was after lunch, so it seemed quiet without a lot going on, except for a lady getting her hair done. We saw a nice model apartment.
Chancellor Gardens has everything. The décor is very nice, very clean, and a little fancy. The staff also seems to be very sweet and caring. It’s located in a good spot. The décor is a little bit upgraded, and they have card nights, game nights, and movie nights. I thought that the rooms were a little small. It is just a group facility, so dining is just a big room that has tables in it, and you could sit wherever you wanted.
I liked Tuscany, but it was more expensive and a little further away. People were all very nice. I had lunch there and the food was OK. I saw the apartments and thought they were very nice. I saw some that were empty and some that had furniture in them.
The staff member at The Wellington who assisted me during my visit was very professional, and I felt very comfortable with her. I liked the whole comfortable feel of the community, and it was so clean. Everybody was so friendly. The rooms were a little smaller than what I wanted.
When it comes to retirement communities for active seniors, it really can’t get much better than the Firs.
While this is an independent retirement community, residents can lighten their load with housekeeping, laundry services, and access to transportation to local stores and attractions. The community even schedules many visiting healthcare professionals.
As health begins to decline, or when additional assistance is required on a short-term basis—there is an onsite care agency that seniors can hire.
The amenities, excursions, classes, and activities are versatile, and if they so wish—will keep many seniors busier than before they moved in.
This is a pricy facility, but ideal for the active and cultured senior.
My husband was an Alzheimer's resident in Memory Care until he passed away. I can't say enough wonderful things about Huntington Terrace and its staff. The compassion the caregivers showed him was amazing. He would tell me "This is a really nice place" when I visited.
This is truly a five-star facility with a staff which is well-trained, young, energetic, helpful, and smiling.
Activities are numerous, well-planned, and professionally managed although outside adventures seem to take precedence over inside programs better suited to the physical and financial needs of the current residential population.
Food is exceptional, prepared under the direction of a professional chef for any-time dining. The daily menu includes three featured entrees plus half a dozen standard options (deli, grilled chicken or fish, quiche, burger, etc).
On site care is available (but not included in rental rates) and a real plus is an exceptional paramedic unit just minutes away. The facility is relatively new and has full kitchens and laundry in each apartment. On-site maintenance is readily available.
Overall, The Creekside is a great retirement community...the apartment is home but when you step out the door there is a feeling of being in a comfortable resort with a caring staff and congenial residents. Prices are competitive but are lower than for comparable accommodations which I considered before relocating here several years ago.
I have visited a friend here several times and while this community is beautiful and most of the staff are wonderful, I just couldn't give 5 stars in any category. One time things would be exceptional, then just average the next. I would be happy to give 5 stars when there is an overall consistency.
This is a fairly new facility and most of the staff are very caring. Common areas are kept in good condition but individual apartments may have problems. My apartment has carpets which are worn, soiled and stained. We only recently moved here and the carpet should have been replaced before we moved in.
My mother spent the last 4 years of her life here. She was very unhappy about leaving her home of 40+ years and moving, but quickly came to love living here. She felt she had the best room and that staff gave her "special" care. She enjoyed the activities and the family felt sure that she was well cared for. She referred to Sterling as "home". The appearance at the facility was important, but the caregivers were far more important. At the end, we were able to have hospice come in and she died "at home" in a familiar place at almost 99 years old.
Mountlake Terrace Plaza is an older community with a warm homelike feeling when you walk in the front door. They offer Large 1 and 2 bedroom apartments with full kitchens. Excellent chef and "anytime dining" program, friendly staff, a full activity calendar of activities offered. This is a great place for those with moderate incomes. A hidden treasure and close to shopping in a quiet neighborhood.
Beautiful relaxed community, very friendly and comfortable. They have good food with many choices and no set meal times, you can eat anytime during the day that you like. Close to everything & they provide a great assortment of activities to participate in.
The location is great! Right across the street from Target, Northgate Mall, and many restaurants. The staff here is very sincere and caring and truly listen to what their needs are, and accommodate to their requests in best ways possible.
