Cherry wood is an exceptional facility it is large and has more of a cruise ship feeling than a homelike atmosphere. The facility itself was very well kept up and clean. There were lots of outdoors areas for residents to enjoy the outdoors including a garden area they could plant themselves. They have an 18 hole putting course.
They are on the pricier side but with that come many amenities and activities to keep residents busy. The swimming pool is very nice and good sized. The fitness center has a good selection of equipment for the residents use on my visit there were a few using it and staff was there motivating them and chatting that was nice to see.
The dining room is very nice served restaurant style and the smells coming from it was that that of homemade food. They have an ice-cream shop as well I was given a complimentary ice-cream it was yummy!
There was no shortage of staff they went over their wellness they have in place a well-rounded wellness program to keep seniors active. They offer care services as well to help with household needs, personal hygiene, and medication administration. They also offer residents occupational therapy on site.
I must touch on the room options this place has many to choose from the cottages are stunning and have garages; the ones I toured had fireplaces. They have rooms with full kitchens and those who only have kitchenettes but like I said they are pricey.
I would like to say don’t let the huge size fool you, it is a very nice facility with a lot to offer but it still offers residents a homelike feeling but with that of as I mentioned earlier a cruise ship feel. The staff is great and I didn’t see one thing I could say was negative about this place, from the facility itself to the food, staff and programs offered makes this a place I would feel very comfortable having myself or my loved one. Very well thought out and great attention to resident’s needs and wants.
The total experience is awesome, the staff provide every need with evident care and concern, The food is way past what one would expect of institutional fare although sometimes repetitive and do run out of items. The desserts are yummy and taste like home. The activities are numerous and diversified but many scheduled too early in the morning for some people. Overall a wonderful living experience and friendly atmosphere from both staff and residents.
My mother lived in an independent apartment for approx. 5 years and then in the assisted for 2 years. When she deteriorated further, mentally as well as physically, my family was surprised that they let her continue living where she was so she wouldn't have to adjust to a new place at the age of 95. When she was dying they still allowed her to stay put & a hospice nurse oversaw her needs. If this place is still as well run in 20 years I would live at the Town Center Village without hesitation.
This community has it dialed in. The staff are so dedicated and compassionate, there is a strong culture of wellness, family and caring, lots of activities, restaurant hours in the dining room and a full menu, and the care is very good. Very mission driven. Good leadership. I would feel very comfortable if my mother chose Town Center Village in the future.
