My visit to The Lodge at Mallard's Landing was nice. It's pretty small and didn't seem to have many activities, so we just felt that was probably not a good fit for her. The people seemed to like being there. It seemed fine. The insides of the apartments were a little outdated. Having separate independent cottages or apartments was a nice feature.
The Pavilion at Great Hills is an absolutely beautiful place to be. I have never been to a facility with a library, computer room, and theater in it. I like the way the facility itself is set up. With the patio doors in the rooms. The dinning area was set up like a restraint. Their menu had many different types of foods. I had a good minestrone soup. It tasted homemade, like someone took their time to actually make it the right way. The staff was absolutely amazing after my tour I had no questions. They answered everything before I could ask. They're so friendly and caring. I could tell by the way they talked and interacted with the residents that they actually cared for what they did. This is the place to be.
Cambridge Court is unique in that is not only a beautiful community, but the services they provide are exceptional as well. This community provides specialized activities catering to not only the active or semi-active seniors, but to Alzheimer and Dementia residents also. The staff is very proactive in their approach always trying to foresee and issues or changes to resolve them appropriately. While onsite I saw a member of management asking residents for ideas and suggestions on things they would like to see done in the community or changes they would like to see implemented. I thought this was awesome, the residents should have a voice and this community allows them to use it!
Beautiful! The Pavilion at Great Hills is very beautiful. Some of the staff were helpful, while others didn't even acknowledge me walking through the halls. I arrived shortly after some residents had returned from an outing and many of them were still talking about their experience. I didn't have a chance to taste the food, but it smelled good. They were having meatloaf and mashed potatoes, yum!
The staff is stable and experienced. The chef prepares excellent food. The building is clean and updated inside and out. The quality of care is immediate, they have many providers who work within their community to provide the best healthcare for their residents. The activities and outings are varied so the residents can choose something they are interested in doing.

Over all this is a lovely, well appointed retirement community with a very caring staff and I am delighted to have found it. My mother has lived independently for 3 years in one of the cottages with a private patio, garage and beautiful common grounds to enjoy with just a few steps to walk to the main Lodge for meals. If and when the time comes, she can move into the Lodge where there are more services available including memory care if needed. The food is very important to the elderly and Chef Jen does an impressive job with so many different demands. The meal choices are always healthy and I hear very few complaints from Mom. There are also alternative menu choices for residents at mealtimes. The onsite family activities are very well attended and fun for all. The Lodge is located in a quiet setting amidst walking paths, ponds and abounding nature trails. There is no pool at this facility if that is important to a resident. Also my mother would love to have a painting class made available to the residents as part of the art activities.
High ceilings, unique architecture, and professional staff. This two-story community features a continuum of care from retirement to assisted living to memory care. Well organized, high standards, and polished grounds are maintained, and highway accessible in North-West Austin, Texas. A muscian was playing near the dining area when I arrived. Artistic patios and several amenities show the staff want to provide professional services to meet any need.
