Habersham House was a great place to visit and really well maintained. They had an activity room and a game room. It was a really good tour. Overall, I was pleased with the facility. The rooms were great, wonderful, roomy, and well maintained. You could bring your own furniture if you want to. It's really nice. If it had been a hotel, it's a 5-star facility. I would highly recommend them. It's a beautiful facility with caring staff. They're really thrilled to have visitors and new people. It's a great place.
Morningside of Conyers was nice. I liked that it was close and almost around the corner from where I live. I definitely liked the convenience of this one, but I wasn’t as thrilled with it. It was clean, open, and airy. The food wasn’t really that fabulous. Everyone was pleasant. What I liked about the other place I visited was that they will get you on the veterans packet for seniors, and this place didn’t offer that or offer any assistance to help you with it, so that was a negative. I didn’t tour the whole facility, but the rooms were OK. They offered doubles, which I don’t think I was that comfortable with, and didn’t have single dwellings. I got to see a couple of patients and how their rooms were setup, and they were very inviting. Prices were a little over what I could handle. Their dining area was open and airy but wasn’t warm or inviting. It just didn’t seem very social. Everyone was very quiet and no one was interacting with each other. It felt uninviting.
I visited Morningside of Conyers. I liked that the staff was really helpful and that the activities looked nice. It seemed like they do outside activities. The staff answered all of my questions. They took them to pharmacies and appointments and also have a doctor come in on-site. They also had laundry services.

Moved in 6 months ago. Found it to be just like one would expect of a 5 Star retirement village. We picked one of their cottages. Just like home in sq ft size. a short walk to the main building for our meals. If we want to, have a full kitchen to do our own cooking but who would want to with the meals they serve in the main dinning room? Just like eating in a hotel restaurant every meal! The location has all the services near by that you wish to visit. And you can request a transportation in one of their 2 Cadillacs. Complex just added a putting green so need to get a putter. Only thing missing is a pool.
3 years ago I found it necessary to find a memory care facility to care for my husband. After 9 years of caring for him my health became an issue. We had been married 53 happy years and it was the hardest decision I had ever made! I visited every facility in my area that I was familiar with, We had just moved back to the Decatur Area after spending 16 happy years in Savannah, Ga. in retirement. I visited many different facilities and was told that I could live with him in one of them. I moved in, The next day, I was told that someone had made a mistake and that I could not live with him. I found another facility. It was a lovely place. The majority of the caregivers were not well trained. After a patient was injured because of neglect, I knew I had to move again!
A friend of mine told me about visiting a friend of hers at Northlake Gardens and that she was very impressed with it. I went, I saw, I too was very impressed with it. The Staff made the entrance process easy for me.
He has been there 3 years. I feel that he is well taken care of. I love to visit the facility! I go daily. The memory care unit is included in special events and activities. They are taken on field trips and out to eat. The food is outstanding. The many events that they have include family and I am always amazed at how good the food is. The lovely flower garden and fish pond in the center of the home can be seen from his room. I was shocked this pass week when he took my hand and led me to the door that goes to the garden. If I have a problem, I do not hesitate to report it to the proper person in charge. The Executive Director is a former Nurse and very capable.
I used to worry about what would happen if I became ill. I can go to be at night and feel that he would be taken care of without me. I thank Northlake Garden for my peace.
Cameron Hall of Canton is a small, quaint community that is a great senior living option for seniors in the Canton area. Cameron Hall of Canton provides a variety of care options and the staff are all very friendly, down to earth and attentive, it is truly a home and family feel to the community. Cameron Hall of Canton just received a deficiency free survey review from the Georgia Department of Community Health which is very commendable and difficult to attain. That accomplishment is very impressive and something I would look for in a community when searching for acceptable senior living options.
My mother has been in the Memory Care wing at Northlake Gardens for 5 years. When the time came to look for a facility, I researched an visited several in the Tucker/ Lilburn area. The only place that felt like "home" was Northlake Gardens. I was greeted warmly by all the staff and Faye gave me a tour that was friendly and was a "drop in". I felt this was important since some facilities gave me only specific times I could come to see the facility. Since moving to this "home" my mother has been taken care of in the most loving and and giving manner. All of the residents are given outings, even those in the Bridge to Rediscovery (memory care). There are family dinners, holiday dinners, activities, music, just about anything you would want to participate in. Making the decision to place a parent in assisted living or memory care is difficult and heart wrenching, and one of the hardest things you will ever have to do. Northlake Garden's staff, from housekeeping, kitchen, facilities, office, caregivers, med-techs to management will treat you and your loved one as Family. I have recommended this facility to 3 of my friends and they have all moved their parent(s) here. I would not want my mother any where else.
The Palms at Lake Spivey is a beautiful and very large community. This community is set-up more like an apartment building than a senior living community and is operated in that same manner. There is a huge patio with a grill and huge in ground pool but I do not think these amenities are frequently used by the residents. Each time I have entered there community there is no sign of an activity for the independent living or assisted living residents. The community staffs medication techs to provide medication assistance and often are disorganized. Leadership changes often in this community especially clinical leadership which effects the quality of care given to the resident. This community has potential and with family monitoring this community could be an option. There are not many communities in the area so for convenience it is an option.
Truly a wonderful place. My father has been there for a year and they take great care of him. The staff is warm and always willing to help. They are a great team and their leader, Charles James, is exceptional. I have never had a problem that he was not right on top of immediately. However, there have so rarely been any problems and they are always so minor, I know he runs a smooth ship. The rooms are comfortable, the lounge well appointed, the garden is beautiful, and the social activities are plentiful. I highly recommend that you give them a look.
The best decision we ever made was to move mom into Marsh View. She now has a social life, friends, and the care she needs. Mom lived with me before moving there. Our relationship is now better than ever and now she makes us work around her social schedule when we want to take her out for dinner, then she cant wait to get back because she might miss something going on. I recommend Marsh View to EVERYONE looking for assisted living for your parent! and we have referred to several of our friends.
