The Parkview was great. I didn’t get that much information from the staff because I just showed up to look round. We looked around, and they gave us some information, and that’s all because my father-in-law is extremely difficult. I liked it there; it’s like living in a hotel. The staff member was very nice, welcoming, and helpful.

I didn’t like Eskaton Lodge. It had a much more skilled nursing feeling to it and wasn’t what we were looking for. We’re still looking for more of an independent feel that has the ability to transfer over. I was kind of surprised at the handicapped aspect of it since I watched a gal needing help in her wheelchair go up this incline into the hallway. Out in the front, they have an area for residents to sit out that was right in front of the driveway. This one didn’t get high marks for me, and I don’t mean that because they weren’t gracious, because they were. The residents seemed happy, but from an outsider’s viewpoint looking in, that would not be my choice. The facility was clean. They had a table of people sitting around playing bingo and another group sitting in an area with a big TV.

Review by Shakiri, daughter of former resident of Eskaton Monroe Lodge
Family or friend of a current/past resident

My mother moved into Eskaton a couple of years ago. During that time she enjoyed the company of seniors like herself especially at dinner. At dinner, my normally reclusive mom would shine, and in fact she became known for her infectious laugh. She attended in-house performances, holiday dinners and the chair exercise classes I taught (and still teach) in the beginning just to get her moving. My mother's name was easily called by residents wishing her a good day and encouraging her to do well. My mother held Eskalon residents and staff in very high regard and even though she suffers from dementia continues to ask how Trudy the desk clerk, and "that sweet guy" the handyman with whom she took a photo are doing. She especially enjoyed having dinner with a couple that always made her feel welcomed and was particularly tickled by the gentleman who every evening, held her chair until she was safely seated. Unfortunately, my mother suffered from dementia and her fast deterioration was a very painful journey down hill. It would have been very difficult to make decisions and arrangements for more care without the support and patience of Eskalon staff. My family and I are very grateful.

The administration and staff of this community are both professional and compassionate in their approach to senior living. With their combined experience, knowledge and understanding they not only manage the community well, but are also involved in community efforts to contribute to the needs of the growing senior population. This community is nestled in a mature neighborhood of homes, and walking distance to the local park, and zoo. The building itself is not new, but has been updated and maintained well. The residents were active, engaged and welcoming to guests entering the community.

Fountainwood is tucked into a neighborhood of single homes, trees and lush landscape. There are plenty of places to walk, visit and mingle with residents or visitors. The dining area is attractive and home like, although not large in scale, there is ample room for residents to enjoy their dining experience. Memory care programs are in place and as part of the Eskaton family kept up to date and progressive for their residents.

One of the unique features of Eskaton Village is that on one property there are multiple levels of options for living; from independent to assisted. For couples who need different levels of care but wish to remain in their own home nearby Eskaton Village provides a workable option. The grounds are both spacious and park like. Security is enhanced via a guard station booth at the entrance, although not likely necessary in this quiet Carmichael neighborhood. With an expansive community center, cafe's and activity rooms there is plenty to offer one in the way of entertainment, hobbies, and activities.

There is a golf course and tennis club close by so there is no shortage of recreational activities. Shopping and medical services are just minutes away. Eskaton Village Cameron Park is licensed for 49 residents in Assisted Living so everyone knows your name and you instantly feel at home. This is a smaller, cozy facility where the common areas are not very large, so you don't have to worry about getting lost. There is only one option for living space and that is a 390 sq. ft. studio apartment. The facility is well maintained and there is no shortage of activities to stimulate the mind and exercise to keep active. Residents appreciate the convenience of a supermarket, drug store, physicians and medical offices all within walking distance. Eskaton Village Roseville offers home ownership as well as the Assisted Living and Memory Care in the Lodge. The community is gated and beautifully landscaped in a park like setting. This is one of only a few communities in the entire Sacramento area that has an indoor pool. There is no shortage of activities to socialize and to keep physically and mentally active. This community performs better for the residents that require lower levels of care, especially in the Memory Care area.

This community looks like a vacation resort nestled among the trees. The lodge style building with stylish architecture and impeccable landscaping make this a place you want to live. The occupancy is usually full, so you may have to wait for an apartment to come available, but it is well worth the wait. Outdoor dining is available so you can enjoy fine dining in a beautiful setting and practice on the putting green after dinner.

This is a beautiful community where the landscaping is well manicured, the building is warm and inviting, and the entire community is kept very clean. The community was recently remodeled so you'll find the common areas and one bedroom apartments stylish with the latest decor. This community is the only Assisted Living and Memory Care community in Gold River. They advertise that they were voted "best" in Gold River, but since they are the only community there, it is a bit misleading. There has been considerable management and staff turnover over the past year lowering their quality of care and staff score.

This Assisted Living and Memory Care community is indicative of Orangevale with city amenities in a country like setting. This beautiful community is a one story building for easy mobility with seven courtyards with fountains and lush landscaping. There is plenty of room to walk around rain or shine. Their care is exceptional with Smart Sensor Technology which provides caregivers with vital information about each residents habits so they can monitor changes in activity and respond accordingly. They offer two support groups that are open to the public for Parkinson's and Dementia. They have a gorgeous grand piano that is played regularly so you can sit and listen while enjoying a freshly baked cookie or rootbeer float.

This beautiful community is nestled into the hillside of a 63 acre campus in Placerville. The Lodge at the center of the campus houses the assisted living and memory care options and is surrounded by dozens of new rental cottages. The assisted living apartment options are limited with only one bedroom apartments available. The occupancy in the Lodge is usually full, so you may have to get on a waiting list, but it is worth the wait at this first class community. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. You will feel like you are on vacation at the Lodge with the beautiful stone fireplace to sit and read a book by, a heated indoor pool and plenty of activities to keep you mentally and physically active.

Eskaton Village is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). Continuing care retirement communities are retirement communities with accommodations for independent living, assisted living, and nursing home care, offering residents a continuum of care. Choosing to live in a CCRC is a costly endeavor, and individuals with low or even middle incomes and assets usually can't afford this senior housing option. Payment plans differ at each CCRC, but a large entrance fee is usually required. If you determine this is a viable option, you will find that Eskaton Village has a myriad of amenities and options. This community has 37 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with water features and mature trees. The building is elegantly decorated and there is no shortage of things to do from painting to woodcarving to swimming to putting on the green, to name just a few. Eskaton has life-enriching programs and innovative wellness programs to keep you living actively and independently as long as possible.

This community is in a great location near Hwy 50 and Sunrise nestled in the beautiful Gold River area. There are resting and social stations throughout the building where one can sit, visit, play cards, or enjoy the view outdoors. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The glassed in sitting area is reminisce of screened in porches providing generous views of the outdoors. Each area I have visited has been well maintained and clean.
