My loved ones are in Brookdale Fredericksburg. I think they both seem very happy. The staff was professional and prompt, and the nursing staff was very accommodating. The food is good, and they have lots of activities.
Brookdale Manassas is very favorable. It looks pretty inside and the staff was very nice. My mom-in-law has a studio apartment which is nice and big with a little kitchenette, a huge closet, a wonderful bathroom that has a handicap lift on the toilet and a walk-in shower that’s large enough to accommodate a seat. They have a lot of activities available for the residents. We are seeing a lot of improvements with my mom-in-law right now. She is able to go down to the dining area by herself. The staff are doing their best to encourage her to participate in the activities. I was not able to eat there but the food looks great.
We visited Brookdale Manassas and are considering them if we can meet their financial requirements. It’s right next to my mother’s current location, so her transition would be easier. They showed us a studio on the second floor and gave us a tour of the dining area, the physical therapy, the recreation room, and the nurses’ station. We met their activities coordinator. They were doing tinfoil artwork when we went through, and we asked about Bingo because my mother’s a big Bingo player. They also do movies and bring in local professors from George Mason University and healthcare speakers to talk about elder care and elder health care. The staff seemed very friendly and responsive, and the residents looked happy.
Everything at Brookdale Manassas was clean, well put together, and organized. It looked OK. One of the things I didn’t like is they said that they would assign me a table to eat at. I objected to that. They had a good schedule of activities for each month. They had transportation available to go to the mall. They could improve on the amount of space they give you in a room.
Brookdale was very cozy. There were a lot of people sitting around who were much older than I am but seemed happy. The staff was wonderful, and the facility was very nicely kept. The atmosphere was very upbeat.
Brookdale Manassas went above my expectations during my visit to the community. I was able to speak with the staff and some residents there and didn't see any issues other than they were due for updates to the buildings, which they said were eminent. We looked at a room that could accommodate my folks and everything seemed to be what I would expect.
The staff at Brookdale Arlington was very nice. They gave us a tour and showed us the things that might be helpful for my sister to get her back on her feet. The dining area seemed pretty nice, and the rooms were big enough. They had movie nights and field trips, and there was always something going on.
Brookdale was a nice place with a couple of good-sized one-bedrooms and studios available. I found the studio had a lot more space than the one-bedroom. The staff came out to the house and fixed me up. I ate a very good lunch there. They had large rooms for card games, chess, checkers, and dominos. They have trips once in a while to various places in the area, like the mall and a couple of stores at the shopping center.
I’m at Brookdale Arlington. It’s located near a lot of other shopping, movie theaters, and restaurants, so it’s very convenient if you stay here. The care is good, and the food is OK. It’s very nice inside a room. You can either get a furnished apartment or have your own furniture depending on what you want. The staff goes both ways with quality; there are some people who are not as good. There are lots of planned activities.
Multiple activities offered throughout the facility. Activities are scheduled on a regular basis to include physical therapy and residential programs. Older facility but it's extremely difficult to identify its age. Great menu options with food with restaurant like atmosphere. Knowledgeable staff members who were very informative and engaged residents in daily activities. Activities offered include movie outings and bingo.
Beautiful facility with lots to offer residents. However, there appeared to be staffing issues with staff members often subjected to overwhelming responsibilities. There are three meals offered to residents per day. The facility is up-to-date and renovated. Spacious rooms and beautiful views. Elevator provided for residents with mobility issues. Full kitchenette and bathroom offered in rooms.
Beautiful and newer facility offering residents customized living options. Very attractive building that had a home like atmosphere. Staff members are often open to feedback from families and really get involved in the resident's programs. Facility offers a variety of options including dinner outings and multiple opportunities for social interaction. The fact that the building has smaller units also helps the residents with more vulnerable needs receive sufficient care.
Hotel like atmosphere, however, this creates problems for those with mobility issues because the distance to walk from one location to the next is often times tedious and hard, considering the fact that residents are made to live in such a spacious environment. Bright atmosphere with open spaces. This facility is better suited for those with very few needs and options. The quality of care is very high.
Clean facility with excellent accommodations. Friendly and experienced staff members offer top quality to the units. Most residents within the facility are high functioning and independent. Low staff to resident ratio. The residence has wheelchair accommodations and is handicap friendly. Facility offers one or two bedroom units and hospice care for residents with needs. Movie and game room available for residents. The facility has many options for entertainment.
This facility is totally awesome. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My wife arrived there this afternoon and was greeted with a welcoming gift and made to feel at home. There is a bird, cat, dog, guinea pigs and fish....everything a person might have at home. A nice outdoor seating area is also available
