Belmont Village Hunters Creek is a large community and offers a dynamic staff to match. I like visiting this community because the staff is always welcoming and the residents are pleasant as well. During my visit, I felt like family. There was a game of BINGO being played and lunch had just finished being served. I looked at the activity schedule and the menu, which both seem well planned. This community is very clean, neat, and organized.
The property is established near the Medical Center and the West community area. As you arrive, the appearance is of a large estate and the feeling of elegance. The staff are friendly and willing to meet your needs as a visitor and resident. The environment is filled with activity with staff and volunteers who partner with the community in bringing variety to the residents lives. The décor is light and appealing to the eye and gives a feeling of warmth. The staff are professional and appear to be attentive to the residents during my tour. This property is a great asset to the West Houston Community.
The location of this facility is a major plus, they are local in the medical center. Which gives me an extra cushion of safety while my Aunt stays here. The employees make everyone feel welcomed. They make it feel like home... made me want to stay there myself. The place is very nicely decorated. I am big on decorations I notice every little thing.
Belmont Village Turtle Creek is an encompassing senior living facility in central Dallas offering independent living to memory care on the same property. It is conveniently located only minutes from many restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores. The museums and theater nearby offer some of the best art and shows available in the nation. The Belmont has transportation available. They are a very active community. The activity calendar has plenty to choose from to entice any of the residents to come out to participate. The building is beautifully designed on the exterior and the interior. It is breath taking, but not snobby and stuffy. If you did not know, you would not believe that it is a senior living facility. All staff members have been very accommodating and friendly during my visits. The residents have a choice of a studio, one- and two-bedroom options. One of my favorite recreation activities is the indoor swimming pool, what a luxury! I did not try the food, but they have a Chef on staff to prepare the meals. If a resident has a special request, they have a concierge to assist in getting the request for the resident. With food being such an important part of keeping seniors healthy, they strive to keep food very appealing. It has a secure environment, licensed and providing professional 24 hour care, assistance with medication, the staff is available and willing to help. A licensed nurse works closely with the resident's family and their physician to change medication as needed. The licensed nurse oversees medication management ensuring your loved one takes the correct medication at the right time. Residents care plans are reviewed regularly and when necessary are adjusted to allow the residents' ever changing needs to be met. When a resident starts declining, the administrator and nurse will ask the family to come in to discuss options. They advise the family of the worsening condition and they work with several national and local agencies to bring additional medical help in as needed, such as, hospice and home health. The pricing is one of the more costly properties but well worth it if your loved one requires the best services available. The Belmont’s impeccable services offered go above and beyond any other senior living facilities. I highly recommend Belmont Village at Turtle Creek if top quality service and this high end location are needed.
I visited Belmont Village at West University and was pleasantly surprised. It was clean, modern, and nicely decorated for a comfortable feeling like home. Most of the staff seems attentive and engaged. I would recommend this facility to people I know based on the caring, compassion, and general knowledge that the staff exhibited while I was on site. Belmont West University is peaceful, organized, well kept, maintained and the staff seems to be knowledgeable, caring, respectful, and kind.
I love the area that Belmont Village Hunters Creek is located in a great part of town! As soon as you walk in you are welcomed by pleasant knowledgeable staff. Everyone seemed very personable and caring. The food smelled wonderful and all of the living spaces that I saw were clean, decorated, and some sitting areas for visiting. I also had a chance to talk some of the leadership staff and they were wonderful in terms of being passionate about the car of their patients.
I visited Belmont Village at West University while searching for a facility for my aunt. The facility is located near the medical center which is a plus. It is in a high traffic area, but I was happy that my aunt would be close to medical specialists if she needed assistance.
Upon entering the facility, I was greeted by a staff member who was friendly and helpful. My initial impression of the facility was that it was clean and well maintained. I was able to have someone provide a tour for me, and I was treated with respect. Locating a long term facility for a loved one is never easy. The staff here made sure they provided as much information for our family as possible while giving us time to view the information and not feel obligated to make a "quick" decision.
This facility has everything. It is very organized, and they provide activities for the residents. They have Activity personnel and staff that make sure residents are engaged. I think that it is important to make sure during your tour that you notify the personnel of your family member's special interest to see if they can accommodate. I feel that it is very important to ask about activities because a lack of activities for your loved one may result in a decreased morale. I was a caregiver for a long period of time. Therefore, I know what to look for to see if the facility genuinely cares about the resident or if the facility is only there to meet the minimum requirements.
This facility is one of the better ones, and they appear to maximize the resident's living experience as much as possible. I do feel that a few of the staff members could have been friendlier as I passed them in the hallway, etc. There is no perfect place so it is important that families choose a facility that doesn't treat your loved one like a number, but like the valuable human being they are.
Belmont Village at West University is a nice facility. I did not give five stars because I feel that slight improvement can be made in each area. However, this facility is willing to make the necessary changes so that your loved one would feel at home.
Belmont Village Circle of Friends dementia program is by far the best in Austin. I say that with the experience of having to find dementia help for both of my parents, my mother's downhill slide starting 7 years after my dad's, giving me 12 years experience at 7 different Austin assisted living centers including Beckett Emeritus; Buckner Village; Gracywoods and Querencia. Of them all, Belmont Village is by far superior on every aspect from facilities to care to food and parking. It has truly been a Godsend to our family. Mother's been there a year now and has not deteriorated but instead has improved cognitively and physically, which we had been told wasn't possible. She now initiates conversations and can sign her name again after losing these skills for awhile. Unlike the places where the caregivers stay on their cell phones while assisting clients, Belmont's staff is dedicated and attentive. Their programs are outstanding. If an activity is listed on a schedule, you can count on their staff to follow through and do it with love and enthusiasm. They have daily exercise with a personal trainer, water aerobics and cool crafting projects, but most important to us are the relevant and contemporary mental exercise games that are actually fun to participate in, even for visiting family members. These range from trivia games to crafts however they are never infantilizing or contrived as they often were at Mom's prior places. Belmont Village has helped our family honor and care for mother as she deserves. They have many family holiday functions and entertainment events and consistently great food that if it were a restaurant, would be one of the best in Austin. They've deleted high fructose drinks and fatty snacks, which are the mainstay diet at most assisted living facilities. It costs are on par with the other facilities were Mom was, however pricewise, you get far more care and action here for your money than you do elsewhere. Double rooms & a roommate can help you save and rest assured their intake staff keeps their word. If they say no price increase for a year, they mean it. They also have a hospitalist doctor from a nearby hospital serving the facility who is now Mom's primary care physician. This is a medical care option that has benefited Mom's health tremendously and made a transition between a hospital stay back to Belmont as seamless as possible. As a frequent visitor, I've made friends with many of the residents who live in the independent living apartments. Most are delighted with the facility, the grounds, the food and the activity options. I wouldn't hesitate to move my parents here from any other facility ASAP as Belmont Village Westlake Hills is by far the best we have found. The only down side is they offer no skilled nursing, however they do work with other facilities when needed.
Our mother has resided at Belmont Village for four years, first in Assisted Living and now in The Neighborhood (memory care). The management team has helped us determine her best care plan as she has aged and her needs have increased. The caregivers and nurses are excellent, we have great confidence in their compassion and expertise. We are pleased that we chose Belmont Village after considering many options, and we value our ongoing trust and confidence in the care they provide to our mother.
Overall, we've been pleased. My mother-in-law has become settled in, she has made friends, she participates in activities, and her physical and mental state has improved in the seven months she has lived at Belmont Village. There was definitely a difficult adjustment period but the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to provide personalized attention helped us navigate the difficulties. I scored the staff and quality of care less than wonderful because (1) there have been some requested maintenance issues that have yet to be resolved (a stained area on the carpet needs to be replaced), and (2) the reliability of small tasks getting completed - laundry, meds - seems to be somewhat spotty. Casual communication with the staff seems to be plentiful but a detailed, factual exchange of information is lacking. I do feel that when we request such a conference, which I guess falls to us to do, our communication gaps will be filled in.
We need a better understanding as to who is responsible for what. We chose a lovely apartment for my mother-in-law that includes "assisted living" benefits but there is a question about what assistance she needs and receives.
A huge strength is the staff's friendliness and their gift for making my mother-in-law feel like she is known and appreciated. She and we are greeted by name and welcomed at every turn. The food is better than average and I must say we enjoy the glass of wine with our meal when we dine there. I would suggest though that Belmont consider offering each resident a handful of complimentary guest meals included in their monthly charge. I would think they would want to encourage family members to come eat with the resident - I know my mother-in-law enjoys it - and a handful of complimentary meals would be nice.
Weaknesses are not following through on maintenance requests and not providing specific information on what they are doing with our relative to "assist" her in her "assisted living."
I have toured this community and seen the various units available and all their amenities and services. Although this site has just opened, there has been a waiting list for the past year as it was under construction. This is a large national company with a good tract record. The onsite services are excellent and the location is great.
