Atria Springdale seemed to be a very well-run place. The staff was very nice and friendly, but it was a very small facility for the amount of money that they wanted monthly. They had different activities, like a wine tasting night. They also had a van that can go to various areas. They were all gathered in the kitchen doing something, possibly discussing a book.
My parents moved into Atria Stony Brook. They’re in level 1, which is basically bathing and dressing. I’m not really happy with them at this point. It’s a nice facility, but they have some staffing problems. When the maintenance director was released, it took some time to replace him. I’m not sure if they have replaced him or not. One of the ladies who helps with the care has been out for weeks. Some of the maintenance issues that need to be addressed for my parents are not being addressed. My father was not crazy about the food and the way the menus are set up. There seems to be some turnover there as well. Atria Stony Brook is a nice place, and the people who are there are very nice, but there are some management issues or some staffing issues that we’re hoping get addressed soon. It is a nice building. The rooms are nice and clean. Their cleaning people do a good job. The employees are nice and are doing a good job, but they just have some staffing problem and that has created some gaps in the service.
It was a nice experience at Atria Springdale. The rooms were very small and outdated, but it’s a very friendly place. The main lobby was nice. A lot of the residents seemed to be pleased and happy, but we were not very impressed with the rooms themselves. I’m not crazy about its location, either. It is backed up to an expressway and the freeway in the back. The staff was great, though.
Our choice for Dad was Atria. The amenities were excellent, the people were real nice, and we had chosen them over anybody else we visited. It’s new, modern, and updated. The staff came over, introduced themselves, and were very friendly. They had an excellent dining area.
Atria Springdale was a nice community. While I was there, I was not able to see any interaction between staff and residents. The room that was available at the time was considerably smaller than others I'd seen.
We have placed my brother at Atria Springdale two months ago, and he has been doing well. I like the location. The people are very nice and very cordial. They have a lot of activities and quite a number of different things to do. They have three meals and transport him to his doctor. They are very good and very organized.
