The historic city of Salem offers many attractions for history buffs. The Salem Heritage Network lists walking tours of many of Salem’s historic neighborhoods. The many museums in and around Salem, such as the Mission Mill Museum and the Bush House Museum, chronicle the history of area.
Salem Medical Facilities

A regional medical center for the Willamette Valley, it is also the city’s largest private employer. Salem Transportation
The Cherriots public bus system provides affordable travel within the city. Residents of assisted living in Salem are able to learn how to use the bus by enrolling in free Travel Training with a Paratransit Specialist who plans the senior’s bus trips and rides along to the destination. If riding the bus is impossible due to a disability, the CherryLift service provides curb-to-curb van service. Wheels, a community transportation service, is also available for doctor visits, shopping trips and more. Reservations must be made in advance and the cost is a cash donation.
