This community is all about the care of the resident with potential for cognitive issues. It is an older property and smaller rooms but each inch is used to look like a different venue. From cafes, to sitting areas, to fireplaces with warm sofas, just the kind of place that is cozy and offers safety.
This facility is one of the most active communities for parties and activities. They have a large staff of islanders and like to share their culture. Carlsbad is a small, scenic city located on the California coastline, north of San Diego. This 40-square mile area boasts seven miles of beautiful beaches, but was once known for an entirely different type of water.
In the 1800’s, trains regularly stopped in the city so that the passengers could enjoy fresh mineral water served from John Frazier’s well. This delicious liquid was found to have similar properties to the water of Europe’s famous Karlsbad spa, which inspired developers with a perfect name for the city.
Residents of assisted living in Carlsbad will be welcomed warmly in this economically advanced city of just over 100,000 people.
There are three natural lagoons preserved for the enjoyment of Carlsbad residents. Buena Vista Lagoon is an excellent spot for bird watching, while Agua Hedionda allows relaxing shoreline fishing. Batiquitos Lagoon offers both wildlife viewing and fishing. And for those who like their water salty, Carlsbad has no shortage of state beaches.
The Carlsbad Senior Center has been providing social opportunities for residents of assisted living in Carlsbad since 1974. These days, the facility offers a fitness room, a computer lab and various special events in addition to their regular classes and programs.

Cost of Assisted Living in California
Most assisted living communities in California charge a monthly fee that covers room, board, daily services and accommodations. Residents pay for assisted living care using personal savings and resources, but may take advantage of long-term care insurance, life insurance or annuities to help shoulder the cost.
Because California assisted living facilities are considered non-medical, Medicare and Medi-Cal provide only limited support. But as of March 1, 2009 the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare services renewed the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) to provide benefits to seniors who are both Medi-Cal and nursing home eligible.
Since its renewal in March 1, 2014 for another five years, ALW extended its Medi-Cal benefits to qualified seniors living in assisted care in the counties of Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Sonoma, Fresno, San Bernardino, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Kern, Orange, and Riverside.
