I have visited many, many communities in Goodyear, AZ. I can tell you that this one is my number one choice out of my top three. It's nice and classy from the entrance to the apartments. The receptionists have always greeted me with kindness and friendliness. I was in the lunchroom during my tour during a resident meal time, and I can tell you that the food was good and portions were sufficient. I've had dinner there many times when visiting and I always was very satisfied with the quality and quantity of food. Very tasty selections however, not a plethora of options. I love the layout of the apartments since they were thoughtful enough to put the bathroom location on the side near the door. Furniture in the show model gave me some great ideas on how to decorate the apartment and it was all very "top shelf". Like a "ritzy" hotel. I checked out the activities and what was being offered and was relieved to find that they offer excellent programs all week long. They also have a gigantic movie theater with very cozy seats. Perfect for winter days to watch "Casablanca". The care that the staff provides is one of the strongest points of this community. The number of caregivers to residents is very high and above average. They make residents health the number one priority. Help with ADL's is also available with medical care available if needed for residents and even for visiting friends and families. Residents are not the onl one's prone to accidents. I really encourage everyone I meet to see this community for themselves because is is unbelievable how well planed it is. Price wise? It's up there but a 5 star rating does not come cheap. Keep that in mind.
Merrill Gardens, Lafayette is a new community, less than a year old. It has 85 apartments, and can accommodate 17 in their memory care unit. They offer all day dining, happy hours several times a week, usually with live music, as well as nightly movies in their theatre, a full service salon, exercise and massage room, and many open areas for residents and their guests to enjoy. Each independent or assisted living apartment has a kitchen. The studios are equipped with everything a kitchenette offers, a refrigerator, sink and microwave, as well as a 2 burner stove. The 1 and 2 bedroom apartments offer the same kitchen options as the studios, but with four burner stoves with an oven. While this community does not offer large open garden areas, they have 2 rooftop decks with resident gardening projects, and are in walking distance to downtown Lafayette, which has many options for shopping and dining. They have two community computer stations for residents' use, but their WiFi is accessible in most locations in the community. In addition to this being a nice and new community, they also offer underground parking for their residents. This is especially great on hot California summer days, as well as (when we don't have a drought), rainy Bay Area winters. The garage has an elevator that goes directly to the community from the garage. Lastly, because they are a new community that is not at capacity, they offer an area comparatively reasonable rate that should be explored!

Upon arriving at Merrill Gardens in Willow Glen, I was impressed by the beautiful living room area to the right of the entry. It is large and bright and was in use by several groups of residents visiting and reading. Kay, the receptionist greets everyone like a special guest while at the same time making sure to keep track of who is coming and going from outside. Although lunch was past, many residents lingered in the dining room chatting. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive to the residents and seemed to offer just the right amount of assistance. The apartments are very bright and spacious with full, modern looking kitchens, lots of windows and patios. This seems to be a busy community with a lot of residents and visitors coming and going and a very engaged staff. There are several events planned for each day, including shopping excursions, pool competitions and craft groups.

Merrill Gardens in Campbell is a beautiful, new senior community. The feel upon entering is of an upscale resort hotel. The lobby and seating area is large and arranged into intimate seating groups where residents and visitors were relaxing and chatting. The residents appear to be quite independent and engaged in their community. One group, the Busy Bees were knitting blankets, hats and such for newborns at a local hospital. The dining room and bistro were both humming with conversation. All of the staff I observed were polite and friendly to each resident they saw, always greeting the resident by name and asking about a family member or other interest of the resident. The overall feel here is of a vibrant community of friends. As Cathey, the Executive Director said, “It’s wonderful to work in such a beautiful place, but what really matters is meeting the needs of our residents.” I give Merrill Gardens in Campbell 5stars for resident engagement.
Merrill Gardens at Oceanside is a good facility but has room for improvement in many areas. What I did like about this facility was that it had a barber shop and beauty salon as well as a library area well stocked with books. What I did not like about this facility was that it feels a bit dreary on the inside and doesn’t have as much natural light as I would have liked. Merrill Gardens at Oceanside isn’t a bad facility, but rather just one that should be updated.
Close to downtown San Diego, less than two miles from Emergency medical facilities, shopping centers, and grocery stores. The best part of this facility is there quest to make sure that every resident have the opportunity to participate in an activity of their choice. The variety of these activities include art classes, games, and social events.
This modern facility offers the best in fine dining, recreation, and assistance with daily living. The staff I did see were friendly, but the facility does seem to be a bit understaff, at least during my visit it was. Overall, this assisted living community offers Independent and Assisted Living for introverted and extroverted seniors.
Merrill Gardens at Renton Centre is located close to the Cedar River and Renton senior community center and all the downtown area has to offer. It is a newer building with a resort atmosphere.
They provide good mix of activities for residents when I visit there is always something going on and residents are always about and keep busy. As I mentioned before the Renton Senior Community Center is close by an offers seniors lots of fun activities.
The dining room is nice and they have an open-ended menu with an open-ended time so residents don’t have to worry about missing a meal they can go anytime up until close and order what they wish from the menu. I have eaten lunch there and it was excellent, I had a Turkey Sandwich. There was a little salad buffet area and it was very nice.
They offer residents apartment-style community and provide assistance with daily living activities. Residents receive help with meal prep, housekeeping and medication assistance which is great as my resident gets her meds messed up. Residents don’t have to worry about doing their laundry is is done for them.
They have their independence and freedom and at same time the gap is bridged for those needed more assistance.
The amenities on-site are great as well. The fitness area had quite a few ladies in their doing light aerobics. They have a salon in-site. And my favorite is the roof-top patio it is beautiful and the view is amazing.
Overall this is a very nice facility the building itself is elegant and nicely furnished, the residents rooms are spacious and nice. The amenities they offer keep residents busy and add to this already great facility. The overall care from the staff is superb they are always friendly and welcoming; it only took three visits for them to have my name memorized. The level of care and compassion I have seen from the staff sets my mind at ease that the residents are well cared for.
I recommend this facility whole heartedly for my loved one. If you are looking for a facility I would make sure and visit Merrill Gardens.
This is truly a five-star facility with a staff which is well-trained, young, energetic, helpful, and smiling.
Activities are numerous, well-planned, and professionally managed although outside adventures seem to take precedence over inside programs better suited to the physical and financial needs of the current residential population.
Food is exceptional, prepared under the direction of a professional chef for any-time dining. The daily menu includes three featured entrees plus half a dozen standard options (deli, grilled chicken or fish, quiche, burger, etc).
On site care is available (but not included in rental rates) and a real plus is an exceptional paramedic unit just minutes away. The facility is relatively new and has full kitchens and laundry in each apartment. On-site maintenance is readily available.
Overall, The Creekside is a great retirement community...the apartment is home but when you step out the door there is a feeling of being in a comfortable resort with a caring staff and congenial residents. Prices are competitive but are lower than for comparable accommodations which I considered before relocating here several years ago.
This brand new community is not only beautiful but gracious in the welcoming of its new residents. We recently moved a family into this community - and while it could have been a challenge given the many other families moving in at the same time, the team at Merrill Gardens was outstanding in communicating with both us and the family to make sure that we had clear directions necessary to make our move in successful and with the least amount of anxiety. Our family is over the moon with this community. The team here is outstanding. The community itself beautiful.
Merrill Gardens at Bankers Hill is one of the newest Senior Living Communities. For those of independent means that what the night life that Downtown San Diego, The Gaslamp, Theater, Bankers Hill, Hillcrest, and much more has to offer, Merrill Gardens is a fabulous location for you. It is close to San Diego Airport and many of the best that San Diego has to offer such as Old Globe. For a more active individual that would enjoy being close to it all, Merrill Gardens may be the right fit.
This is a lovely community and well located near doctors and hospitals. There is also shopping nearby and regular shuttles to meet residents' needs. It is light and bright in the public spaces and has nicely appointed apartments.
This is a fairly new facility and most of the staff are very caring. Common areas are kept in good condition but individual apartments may have problems. My apartment has carpets which are worn, soiled and stained. We only recently moved here and the carpet should have been replaced before we moved in.
This community is situated on 40 acres, and is a very active, vibrant senior living community, with meals and activities included. Their staff is top-notch, and they are always striving to provide the best in all areas of service to their residents. They have an abundance of activities, both onsite and offsite. The variety of living accommodations are wonderful - from 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and 2 Bedroom villas for independent folks or those who may only need a bit of homecare services, to a lovely assisted living setting with very large studio apartments, and a separate memory care area for those in need of dementia and Alzheimers care. This is a wonderful community!
I enjoy my nice rooms with many windows looking out at a beautiful view of mountains, sky + trees + green shrubs + flowers! Having activities, exercises, singing + various programs keeps life interesting + buzie.
I have had several clients at this property. The care has consistently been good and the staff are knowledgeable and caring. Although it is an older property, it is well maintained. They also offer multiple levels of care which allows a resident to transition from more independent care to complete care as their needs increase.
Merrill Gardens offers multiple levels of care, which makes if convenient for patients. While it is an older facility, it is well kept, and there is always maitenance workers doing work. Convenient for those who want or need to transition levels of care.
This community has a lot to offer. Great location within the Queen Anne neighborhood, next to the Seattle Center. Nice outside areas, courtyard & rooftop patio. The staff and nursing are professional and caring. A must tour community.
What a great community within the West Seattle community. The staff are kind and helpful, nursing takes a personal yet professional approach, great roof top patio with excellent views of Seattle. Great living environment!
I am always greeted well, everyone has a smile. As do the residence. This important because this is their home which translates to them being happy. The community is clean and well managed, staff is friendly too. Overall great community!
This is a favorite among retirement communities. This beautiful Merrill Gardens community is in the heart of Kirkland. This community is a block from the farmers Market and also from the waterfront. Close by they offer great dining and shopping experiences all within a very short walk from the apartments. A very vibrant and active community to live in.
