We had a wonderful experience at Ida Culver Ravenna, where my father lived for 3 years. When he first moved in, he was living independently, and then needed more care and services as time went on. We were able to adjust the assisted living services to personally meet his needs. The staff and quality of care is exceptional. They are caring and attentive to residents and responsive to family members. Ida Culver offers a great variety of activities both on site and off. My father often commented on how delicious the food was. Also, the buildings and grounds are very well kept and beautifully landscaped and the location is in a great neighborhood. I would highly recommend Ida Culver Ravenna to anyone seeking a new home for their elderly loved ones.
The Lakeshore is a beautiful senior living facility off of Lake Washington. The grounds are well maintained, and there are benches where the residents can sit and enjoy the view. There is a lovely garden area for the residents my guy has a rose garden he cherishes. Inside the building, there are plenty of sitting areas and common rooms, all furnished tastefully.
The garden club was going on when I was there It looked like everyone was having a lot of fun, not just the residents but the instructor to. The staff members were all very busy but also were very friendly. They have a calendar posted on the wall with a list of daily activities including physical fitness activities, weekly scenic rides, and weekly fun outings.
The meals at Lakeshore offer residents several dining choices including a sugar-free or no-sugar-added option. There are also always one or two entrées that are prepared with reduced sodium, fat, and cholesterol. While the large number of entrées to choose from is certainly nice, I have ate lunch at Lakeshore and the soup and sandwich was very good.
They offer adequate group transportation is provided, but personal transportation is not offered. Pets are welcome my resident has a cat and this is so important for him as he lost his wife.
Residents can choose from studio and one- and two-bedroom apartment units my guys is very nice and the perfect size for him and his cat. The cost at Lakeshore is comparable to others in the area. The rooms have emergency call systems, and kitchenettes. They provide housekeeping, laundry, and linen services weekly. Scheduled group transportation is provided weekly for grocery shopping Guest meals are charged depending on what the guest orders from the menu not too pricey and worth being able to come eat and visit.
The personal care services offered include assistance with showering, bathing, dressing, mobility, transferring, eating, continence management, and medication management. Resident’s specific care needs are assessed in 30 day increments.
The activities are exceptional the health and personal care services are very basic though, I would like to see more for my resident in this area
Aljoya located on Mercer Island is a beautiful senior facility in the heart of town, convenient for seniors to walk to nearby shops, parks, and the waterfront.
Aljoya has a special place in my heart, several years ago, my best friend’s father become a recluse after his wife passed. The decision to move him to Aljoya was an excellent choice. He started to come of his shell and began socializing and getting out more, and he loved the staff and hung out with a couple guys that also resided there. When my girlfriend and I would visit, he would take us all around and show us the fun things he got to do and all the great friends he had made. For the first couple of years he was jubilant and kept busy, his health did decline and the staff was fantastic he was able to get the increased support that he needed.
The staff at Aljoya is fantastic and always patient, supportive, and kept good communication with this family. I have the highest respect for the staff, and the quality of care that they provide. Staff takes the time to be sure the residents are well served, are responsive and always attentive to make residents comfortable.
There is always something to for residents to do, from socializing with the facilities many parties like root beer floats night or fine wine & cheese, floor parties, or theme oriented parties are lots of fun. Her dad loved to play chess he found a great partner and was so excited for their chess dates every Wednesday.
I highly recommend Aljoya it is an excellent alternative for aging loved ones providing a place for comfort, warmth and best of all a place where they can feel alive and enjoy life. The food isn’t too bad either they made some of his favorites. If you’re considering Aljoya, I recommend it, the staff alone makes this place a great place and give it the warm and inviting feeling when you walk through the doors. Combined with its location and amenities, Aljoya is a great choice.
Living at Aljoya Thornton Place is like living in a 5 star hotel. Your every need will be taken care of, all you need to do is ask. Within the first Three days of living there, everyone seemed to know my name. I have lived there almost five months, and I have noticed a slight decline in the food, which may be do to not having the availability of fresh summer fruits and vegetables. The activities are plentiful for sure. You just need to check them all out and decide which ones match your interests. The location is terrific. It is very close to public transportation, a mall, grocery store etc, besides being ten minutes from my daughter. I couldn't ask for any more.
My mother lived at Aljoya for over 3 years. The staff and the entire environment were great. It was a very classy and well kept up spot to live at. The staff knew everyone’s name, including mine. I would highly recommend Aljoya. The food was very nice, there was a pool and Jacuzzi to use as well. The parking was very easy.
"From the moment we moved into The Gardens, my husband and I knew it was the right move for us. Both staff and residents have been so very helpful and pleasant, especially with the adjustment to downsizing and move-in. And with the abundance of activities and programs offered by The Gardens both on and off site, we are never at a loss to fill our days." Signed....Joyce R.
Mom is in memory care, what a wonderful team of staff members, these folks take the extra steps to make it wonderful for Mom. They always are on top of the needs of their community, take the extra time to listen and please, I know my Mom is safe & taken care of from the time She wakes up until She goes to bed. The activities are daily, may it be Bingo, karaoke , puzzles, identification games, Wii,, these folks like to have fun. Mom is a picky eater, She won't eat a lot of things, they figured out how to make her happy , may it be a peanut butter & Jelly toasted sandwich , or a special Vanilla milk shake ( made of heathy ingredient of coarse ) this team takes the extra steps.. Mom care is awesome, they handle her like she is their Mom. They care and it really shows, she is really happy , and clean & always has that great smile. The Gardens is very clean, they take pride in their interiors, and the exterior gardens are beautiful , and what a great place to go out and enjoy. Overall this was my pick of all memory care facilities in Bellevue .
This community has a high level of care if needed, you are always welcomed with open arms, which makes you feel right at home. The staff are pleasant and kind, the community is clean and the grounds are well kept. If you are in the market then you need to visit this community for yourself.
The Gardens is located in a very convenient place near downtown Bellevue. Lots of things going on close by. The building is a few years old but well kept. Apartments are large, especially the studios and some of the views are very nice. Linen table cloths and fine dining and a big focus on the arts make this place a desirable place to live. It is moderately priced for its location.
This community is considered a CCRC because it has most all levels of care. It is very upscale in many ways but it is a very long distance to get to some of the apartments. The dinning is upscale and it does have Assisted Living services brought to the apartments. The biggest challenge is they do not do two person transfers except in Skilled Nursing so there is a gap in their care from retirement to end of life. If you like an upscale lifestyle and lots of space this is the one.
Very prestigious community with all the amenities you could look for within the community and within walking distance. The staff is very helpful, caring and will make sure you are taken care of. They also provide all levels of care so for a senior looking to age in place, this is it!
Good location, the team here is very attentive to the needs of the residents, and will make sure they are well taken care of. Long standing very prestigious group of residents here to have intellectual conversations with. Parking is a bit of a challenge for a visitor.
This community is top notch! They have the whole package for what a senior may be looking for. An active community, high level of assisted care, and transitional care for rehab. The staff here is very professional, and go out of their way to accommodate their needs.
Well, the parking for visitors is horrible. I have a friend I visit here quite often, and have received parking tickets for not making it back to my car quick enough. The meter maids here are very efficient! I know my friend really likes it here and has been at Ida Culver for a couple years now. There is a new program they just started where they provide additional services like transportation to appointments, some counseling, etc. I know that may come in handy as I am unable to be there for everything.
The University House of Wallingford is a great place. My friend's father is a resident. It's in a great location where you can walk to about anything, the building is well maintained and the staff is great.
