Nestled on the edge of Mitchell College Campus, Sunrise of East Meadow is a senior community dedicated to providing senior living, memory care and respite stays with excellence and compassion. Our community is just minutes from Nassau University Medical Center, the Historic Hempstead Plains Preserve and a diversity of casual dining, shopping and convenient services. We offer a cozy, homelike atmosphere and loving, dedicated staff that make this an inviting place to call home.
Sunrise of East Meadow is operated by Sunrise Senior Living. Founded by Paul and Terry Klaassen in 1981, they started with a vision to create senior living that champions the quality of life for all seniors.

We pride ourselves on the warm, friendly environment of the Sunrise of East Meadow community. On any given day you might spot our house pet getting lots of love from residents, and we encourage an atmosphere where friends and family join us regularly for events or to share a meal.
Our comfortable lounge areas offer many opportunities for socializing and camaraderie, enjoying the many clubs, events, classes and music programs that take place here every day. The enclosed patio provides a safe place for residents to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and outdoor landscaping.
Our comfortable residences are available in a choice of floor plans of roomy bedroom suites that are cozy, cheery and full of lots of natural light.
Available Services
Life is maintenance-free with weekly housekeeping and laundry service provided. Residents elect to receive help as needed with daily tasks, including bathing, personal hygiene and medication reminders from our dedicated staff.
Our specialized services meet the needs of residents with Alzheimer’s or other memory impairments. Short-term stays are also an option for seniors who want the extra security of additional assistance during an illness.

I visited this facility
Sunrise of East Meadow was very nice but a little bit expensive. The place looked fine and clean. Everybody looked content and the staff seemed very nice. We had a conversation with the head chef who was very nice and caring.
